Zoro Roronoa

The first crew member that Luffy hired was Zoro. Zoro is an expert swordsman who uses a special kind of swordplay called santoryu, or three katana combat style. Using one katana in each hand and another in his mouth, he accomplishes this. Additionally, he is portrayed using either one or two swords in combat. He generally ties his bandana on his arm, but in a major altercation, he wraps it on his head.

He is not a samurai, but he still seems to keep some bushido, and people often mistake him for one. Zoro, in contrast to Luffy and the majority of the other Straw Hat pirates, has a history of killing opponents when necessary, albeit never in cold blood.

Although Zoro has a severe, serious, and aloof demeanor, his rough, impatient temperament frequently causes him to respond in an absurd, exaggerated humorous manner—unlike Robin. He usually naps or works out with weights on the ship. He only ever appears to be using his immense power to hoist the anchor on a regular basis. Like Nami, he enjoys sake to nearly the same extent as Luffy does, but he never gets wasted because of his extraordinary endurance and tolerance to alcohol. Zoro’s lack of orientation is another noteworthy characteristic; even in tiny, well-known areas or when being guided by someone, he frequently gets lost. Despite this, he frequently detects threats or enemies before anybody else does, and he responds first. He frequently has a keen awareness of the individuals and circumstances that could be dangerous.
