Final Chapter: Reign of the Seven Spellblades Manga

Kadokawa’s Monthly Shōnen Ace magazine released the last chapter of Sakae Esuno’s manga adaptation of Bokuto Uno and Ruria Miyuki’s light novels, “Reign of the Seven Spellblades.”

The manga is published in English by Yen Press, which offers the following synopsis:
At Kimberly Magic Academy, spring brings with it a fresh class of first-year students, including Oliver Horn and the samurai girl Nanao Hibiya. Equipped with swords and wands, they set off on their enchanted expedition.

But under the façade of cherry blossoms, the academy hides a host of perils and sinister secrets that endanger the naive lives of its students.

The light novel’s first collected volume was published by Kadokawa in September 2018, and the thirteenth volume is slated for release on December 8. The English edition is published by Yen Press, and the tenth volume will be available on January 23. In 2019, Esuno turned the series into a manga, and on June 26th, the seventh volume was published.

The 15-episode anime adaptation debuted on July 7. Masato Matsune directed J.C. Staff in bringing the series to life, while Shogo Yasukawa oversaw the writing. Kujira Yumemi wrote the soundtrack, and Sōta Suwa created the characters. Kujira Yumemi feat. sang “Kenka” (Sword Flower), the opening theme.

“Berserk” could appeal to you if you like the complex magic systems and engrossing fantasy setting of “Reign of the Seven Spellblades.” Both manga series explore the ramifications of possessing great powers and delve into deep characters in a dark and absorbing storytelling style. “Berserk” presents a gritty and powerful narrative within a dark medieval backdrop, delivering a similar blend of fantasy elements and substantial character development, while “Reign of the Seven Spellblades” focuses on magical fighting.

Mimizuku and Fukurō, and Kujira Yumemi with Tsumushachi sang the closing theme, “Aimu.” The anime, including the English dub, was streamed on Crunchyroll as it aired on Tokyo MX and BS11 in Japan on July 7, and thereafter on other streaming services.
