On January 14 at 11:00 p.m. JST, the original animation series Meiji Gekken: 1874 will debut on the BS Shochiku Tokyu channel. Listed as one of the producers, Crunchyroll is an anime that is a part of their Crunchyroll Originals.
The show tells the tale of Shizuma Origasa, a former Aizu retainer who became a Tokyo rickshaw driver, and is set in 1874 during the Meiji Era.
Shizuma gives up his sword, but his Boshin War abilities come in handy when he foils an attempt on his life and gets called up to the police service. He is searching for Sumie Kanomata, his missing wife.
